Why Does CLAN exist?

Most people can read, write and use numbers, however sometimes people want help to brush up on these skills.  The Community Literacy And Numeracy (CLAN) team works throughout West Dunbartonshire to offer support with these areas.

Who Can Come To CLAN?

CLAN offers free support to people who are 16+ and who live/work/study in West Dunbartonshire. A free creche can usually be provided if required.

Why Do People Come To CLAN?

People come to CLAN for different reasons but generally to gain confidence to read, write or use numbers better than they can just now.   Examples might be to get help with writing letters, to work on spelling or for assistance with police or fire brigade entrance exams.  Sometimes people find it hard putting pen to paper and expressing their views or opinions.  Whatever the reason, CLAN can help people make changes

Where Are CLAN's Learning Sessions?

CLAN works throughout West Dunbartonshire. Learning can take place in community centres, resource centres, college, schools, libraries, jobcentres, mobile units and the work place.
